Brendan Nelson is supporting the WA Opposition leader, Troy Buswell as his gosh darn crazy antics come to light.
Mr Buswell, the state's Opposition Leader, yesterday admitted to sniffing a female Liberal staffer's chair in 2005.
He broke down at a press conference yesterday as he confirmed the staffer's account of the chair sniffing but said he would not be standing down.
The woman, who does not want to be named, said Mr Buswell lifted the chair she had been sitting on at his Parliament House office in December 2005 and sniffed it.
The incident took place in front of other staff members, with the woman saying Mr Buswell had been trying to get a laugh.
Mr Buswell has previously admitted to snapping a Labor staffer's bra as a drunken party trick and has been accused by retiring Liberal MP Katie Hodson-Thomas of making sexist remarks to her.
It amazes me how this guy is still leader of the Libs in WA.
But Nelson, who is a doctor, is supportive of his colleague. No doubt because the behaviour is caused by some kind of medical condition. Dr Nelson (who is a doctor) is probably his treating physician or something.
"He has said everything that needs to be said about it and it's obvious to anybody that has seen Troy Buswell that he's extremely remorseful about it and he's changed his behaviour," Dr Nelson told reporters in Sydney.
I'd be willing to bet that he broke down crying because he's sorry he got caught, not because he's sorry. Oh, that's right, the Libs are never sorry, only regretful and remorseful.
Dr Brendan Dr Nelson evidently finds the whole thing just one of those mad things that the boys get up to when trying to impress the ladies. Nice one.

Hmmm, maybe I should have gone with "scratch 'n sniff" as Brendan Nelson's nickname.
I did laugh when I read the headline.
here in WA whenever this news item is mentioned (which is on a daily basis) the reporters relish reiterating the chair sniffing bit, over and over again.
The guy is a twat for doing weird shit like this at work, are polly's honestly that naive to think this kind of thing won't bite them in the bum later on?
I'm trying to think of a "bite the bum that sniffs them" gag, but it's just not happening for me.
Shish - but of course. Because they seem to think they are above everyone else purely because they are politicians.
krypto - I almost used the post title of "Something smells in the state of WA", but changed it.
