AvP: Requiem

I love the Predator films. Don't like the Alien films.

Loved the first AvP. Rewatched it last weekend in fact.

Didn't like this one.

Granted, it had some decent stuff in it (heads blowing off, pregnant women incubating the aliens, a Predalien/Predator rumble), but overall I was left feeling ... meh.

Just ... meh.

Very disappointing.

Oh god, I just watched this, well most of it because I turned it off. It was sooooooo bad and I am an Alien and Predator fan.

The bit that got me the most (I will blog about it) was when the Sheriff and the guy who just got out of jail were cruising from one disaster to another and over the police radio came:

"There's been an explosion at the nuclear power plant"

The Sheriff acknowledges the msg and the guy next time him says:

"What's going on?"

And the Sheriff says:

"There's been an explosion at the nuclear power plant"

AS IF THE GUY WOULDN'T HAVE HEARD IT COME OVER THE RADIO IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!???

Worst script writing ever.

I loved that the kids broke into the school, there ended up being blood everywhere, and yet no one questioned their story. And at this point the sherrif hadn't seen any really weird shit.

Agreed, all those bloody pointless sub-plots. Arggg!

What was the point of any of the characters?

They had no bearing at all on the Alien or Predator. None.

The first movie with Arnie did, the first A Vs P movie did, but this one had none. Zilch.

Actually, the ending does link to the Alien films.

Of course, not being a fan of the Alien movies, I didn't pick up on this until I read the Wiki.

I didn't make it to the end. I'll read the Wiki instead.
